My name is Amy Gorton and I started decorating cakes when my then 2 year old son wanted a firetruck cake for his third birthday. I called around for prices and realized I couldn't afford the cake I had in mind. I decided to research and practice and made my very first cake. His firetruck cake spurred my passion to keep decorating and I enrolled in Wilton's classes through Michael's. Here I was introduced to fondant and gumpaste and all the tricks of the trade. I then made my sister's baby shower cake and here I am today. I mostly make birthday cakes for my sons friends, but have done a few other fun themes. I am now enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at Grossmont College and hope to graduate with a pastry degree so I can decorate professionally.
